Women in Defense (WID), a National Security Organization, an affiliate of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), cultivates and supports the advancement and recognition of women in all aspects of national security. A non-profit organization, WID was established to provide women a formal environment for professional growth through networking, education, and career development. Our members are professional women and men whose primary professional activities relate to national security. This includes large and small defense companies, all branches of the Armed Forces, Federal government agencies, and academia. Women in Defense National is currently offering a free one-year membership for Federal Employees which can also be applied to existing member renewals if it has not already been used. After the first year period, dues are $40 annually or $500 for lifetime membership.
Benefits for joining WID include:
A networking framework to expand your professional connections
Discounted rates for events through WID as well as NDIA and its affiliates
Eligibility for nomination in national and local annual Service to the Flag Award Program
Even more benefits are listed on the NDIA site here.
